The Art of Living Guide website

The Art of Living Guide (AoLG) is a network of citizens from all over the world exploring ways, both old and new, to achieve a rewarding, harmonic, active, peaceful and sustainable life through sharing thoughts and experiences on the aspects of being alive which we all have in common.

AoLG takes a very simple form: a pool of resources available to anyone interested in progressing towards that aim. We publish pieces that our editorial team selects, together with the contributions we encourage readers to send in and we offer them through our website to be shared and used.

We encourage everyone’s interpretation of the pooled resources provided and leave it to the reader to choose how to implement what they’ve learned in their daily lives and to share their visions and insights with others.

We focus on a wide range of topics, which reach deep into the different aspects of being alive on planet earth at this point in time. We are committed to the diversity of perspectives and cultures that constitutes our identity as human beings and to emphasising the common ground that we all tread on.

Our aim

Our aim is to promote understanding and reduce conflict, discrimination and oppression by providing a platform for people to share and discuss their thoughts and experiences and, in so doing, to provide practical suggestions that we hope will help others achieve psychological restoration, emotional justice and a balanced intellectual perspective on life.

Yes, we want to change the world! We believe a happier world is possible and that this has to do with what each of us makes of his or her life. We believe, furthermore, that there is no set or standard formula for this - each must find his or her own way, much as one’s life is, yes, personal. We believe that each of us actively working towards a more fulfilling life makes a difference to the rest of us on this planet.

Since changing the world is, indeed, an ambitious project, it requires a certain critical mass. We know we must rally enough people from all over the world around this very simple idea: to share - and thus ensure a fair and sustainable future for all.

How to use the AoLG website

You can use AoLG very much the way you like. Some prefer to just read through and pick whatever catches their imagination, then share their finds through social networks. Others tend to focus on certain topics, send in their comments and actively follow the ensuing exchanges. Many favour paying a regular visit to check the new entries, while a courageous few dare to play editor and submit fragments, quotes, songs, pictures or drawings they have selected for all of us.

There is no standard formula, much as there is no set way to lead one’s life. Create your own!
