I have one major rule: everybody is right. More specifically, everybody, including me, has some important pieces of the truth, and all of these pieces have to be honored, cherished, and included in a more gracious, spacious, and compassionate embrace.

Follow only your truth.

Truth is not like one oak tree
where all the village can gather
of an evening on the green and reminisce
and tell the same story of existence.

Truth is not like Orion’s belt
a clear pathway of stars
for all travellers to walk along
and be guided in the same direction.

Truth is more like the billion seeds
of the whispering wheat
all full of potential bread
and every loaf a different shape.

Truth is more like the uncountable stars
of all the galaxies
flung across unfathomable spaces
waiting for you to join them up into your constellation.

The only truth that applies to everyone is:
‘You have your own truth inside you.’

Follow it, if you dare.
